The person behind it
I grew up in New Zealand, a country that produces some of the world's most expressive wines — and a culture where wine has always been as much about conversation as it is about the glass. Some of my most memorable moments have been around a table, talking about where a wine came from, who made it, and why it tastes the way it does.
That curiosity followed me to Berlin. Here, I found a city with a real appetite for discovery — people who want more than a label, who want to understand what they're drinking and why it matters.
Wine is one of the few things in the world where the process of making it is as fascinating as the thing itself.
Kennedy Wine Collective started from a simple question: what if the way we talked about wine in New Zealand — openly, curiously, with real stories — could happen here in Berlin?
The mission
Most wine retail puts the bottle front and centre. KWC puts the producer there instead. Behind every wine we curate is a person — a winemaker with a philosophy, a family with generations of knowledge, or a young grower taking a completely different approach to what wine can be.
Those stories change how wine tastes. When you know that a producer hand-harvests at night to preserve acidity, or that they've farmed the same hillside for a hundred years, the wine carries that with it. Our tastings, our subscription boxes and our events are all built around bringing those stories to life.
We source directly from small producers. We visit. We listen. And then we share what we find with people in Berlin who are ready to discover something they won't find anywhere else.
